I obtained a secondhand Creality Ender-5 printer, which has been on my bucket list for a while, and decided to add a few upgrades. It had already been upgraded with a direct drive mod, but it was missing a suitable spool holder and the one that originally came with the printer.
I had a go at designing my own spool holder, because many of the other offerings were either unsuitable, unaesthetically pleasing or “required” hardware that I didn't have lying around. I also had an idea of what I was looking for.
The spool holder stands at around 24cm tall, and is mounted to the printer using up to four M4x12 bolts with T-nuts. (I've designed the holder to use countersunk bolts, but whatever you have should be fine.)
You should be able to print this without support material by lying it on its flat side.
If you use this, or you come up with something better, let me know.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
