I made the Tingkat - Creality K1C HEPA and Active Carbon Filter Air Scrubber some time back to filter air particulates and VOCs but I felt something is missing.
The 60mm fan at the back of the Creality K1C/ K1 is exhausting the chamber air into the surroundings and there are potentially microplastics or harmful particulates in them.
Why not make a HEPA filter attachment for the fan to filter them off?
Is there really micro particulates or microplastics during 3D printing?
Well, the HEPA on top has been used for approximately eight (8) hours of ABS+ printing (black ABS+) while the bottom one is new. The top HEPA filter is yellowish/ brownish

Tingkat Buddy is conceived
Here I present you the Tingkat Buddy! Tingkat Buddy uses tension or friction to hold on to the 60mm exhaust fan in the printing chamber.

It scrubs the air in the printing chamber with the HEPA filter before passing it into the surrounding. It does this by creating negative pressure within the attachment, forcing the air in the chamber to go through the HEPA filter. Basically, the air get sucked into the attachment.

Tingkat Buddy is designed to have sufficient clearance from the print bed and the extruder (or print head).
There are two orientations that you can attach Tingkat Buddy:
Tingkat Buddy works best with Tingkat - Creality K1C HEPA and Active Carbon Filter Air Scrubber.
How to install Tingkat Buddy
Just sleeve it over the stock 60mm exhaust fan. No screws required.
Yes, you heard me right. The exhaust fan don't need to be relocated and no screws needed.
So it is really as simple as:
P.S. you will need to purchase the HEPA filter. Details below.
Required Parts
You will need to get the HEPA filter. I designed Tingkat Buddy to use the same filter as Tingkat!
How I printed it
Do share your makes. I would love to see how it turns out with different materials and/ or colors!
