Here's a new glue-free version of my Qui-Gon lightsaber. The modular parts can be swapped out if broken or simply to change the colors. It's an easy assembly and much better than using messy glue.

Model notes

Shroud:

  • Requires supports but the prongs should print better than the old version.
  • If its too tall for your printer you can cut off about a centimeter from the bottom and print separately.
  • I highly suggest tree (organic) supports. The default โ€˜gridโ€™ supports can be hard to remove from the inside of the rear slots.
  • For a hidden z-seam use the seam drawing tool and run the seam down the inside middle of the shroud where it will be covered by the black parts.
  • For a nicer finish, try setting your external perimeter speed to 25mm/s

No supports required for any other parts.

Included assembly guide shows proper steps to build.

Filaments used

PLA: Ziro silk silver, Overture matte black, Elegoo black, CC3D silk red

Special thanks to ceo51378 for sharing his modular designs that inspired this upgrade.
