This 3D-printed magnetic tool and hardware tray offers a practical solution for organizing small components and tools during repair projects. The tray features multiple compartments for sorting screws, nuts, and small parts, while the integrated magnets securely hold everything in place. The two halves of the tray snap together with magnetic corners for easy portability and storage. It's a perfect organizer for hobbyists, technicians, and DIY enthusiasts who need to keep tools and small hardware tidy and accessible.

Notes:

  • I paused mid-print to install the larger integrated magnets into the hardware tray, all other magnets can wait until the print is finished to be installed.
  • The 6 smaller pockets in the hardware tray are magnetic, the longer pockets on the ends are not.
  • This model can be printed on a single plate if you are using a Bambu Lab X1C or printer with similar build plate volume.

Materials:

  • I used PLA, but any material you prefer will work fine.
  • 0.79" x 0.120" magnets
  • 5mm x 5mm magnets
  • Super glue for installing magnets

Settings:

  • 0.20mm layer height
  • 3 walls thick
  • 10% Honeycomb infill (any infill is fine)
  • MAKE SURE TO PAUSE AT LAYER #22 IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL THE 0.79" X 0.120" MAGNETS IN THE HARDWARE SIDE OF THE TRAY.
