General

Model and some print files for receiving satellite signal in L-Band at 1700 MHz and one Inmarsat at 1540 MHz. Other frequencies can be generated.

Model is parametric and other frequencies can be generated directly in FreeCAD: input variables are Er + f0 + substrateHeight. A hole is placed at 50 ohm point off center, Zin for edge feed is calculated. BW is estimated and can be controlled by substrate height.

  • 2024-09-15 First release
  • 2024-09-16 Corrected BW calculation in FreeCAD Spreadsheet => MHz
  • 2024-09-29 Corrected coax probe feed for better match (1-2mm off at 1700MHz),
                           Remade all elements with 5% gyroid infill in 3mf.

Limitation

To find optimum polarisation trim the corners and comparing H and V polarised gain. 

My antenna became elliptical with 3 dB different gain in horizontal and vertical direction.  Test here
