I didn't want to mount our back dashcam onto the windscreen as I didn't want the cable flexing each time I opened the boot.
The clip is wide enough not to move around. It's long enough for your camera to be able to clearly look out of the back window.
Maybe adding cable tie slots could help with cable tidyness.
