Tools:

  • Crazy glue - some parts need to be glued together
  • allen wrench - for m3 bolts
  • soldering iron - to press heat inserts

 

Print orientation:

  • no parts need support material
  • some parts need to be rotated

 

Build steps:

  •  use fan mount template to cut fan and m3 screw holes
  • insert m3 heat inserts to fan fastener
  •  glue magnets to the fan shroud mating surface
    • take note on magnet direction
  • place fan shroud outlet through the fan cover then glue and place the fan shroud mating surface on top of outlet
    • take not to align the notches with the m3 hole locations
  • then crazy glue the fan shroud center register to the mating surface
  • remove back bumpers from fan so the fan shroud outlet makes a flush connection with fan to reduce air/fume leakage to room
  • place fan fastener against enclosure, then behind enclosure place fan, then fan cover over the fan and fasten all together with m3 screws
  • optional use hot glue or some sort of silicon sealant around fan enclosure and fan cable to eliminate fume leakage
  • place magnets in hose shroud outlet (check correct direction to it attracts against the mating side)
  • clamp host to shroud outlet and to drying vent outlet
  •  connect any power to brick (and additional components like fan controller)
