After having the scroll wheel break on my Logitech Anywhere MX mouse while it was in it's soft case in my backpack, I set out to make this hard case so I can throw it in my bag and not worry! My first step was to use my school's 3d scanner to get a model of the mouse. It wasn't the best resolution, but I brought it into Meshmixer to clean it up and had a workable model. From there I brought the stl into Inventor where I recreated the shape of the mouse for the inside of the case by using a 17 section loft. Trying to get that hecking loft was a nightmare but finally it came together. For the outside, I thought it would be cool to go for a low poly look, and I think that came out pretty well!
The final project came out well, and I've been using the case for more than two years now without a hitch! The version I uploaded was actually the second revision that I was going to print once the first one eventually broke, but that hasn't happened yet! I changed the mechanism to make it easier to open hopefully.

Doesn't Matter
Supports:
Yes
Filament:
Hatchbox PLA Black, Blue
Notes:
The base can print without any supports just fine with it sticking into the air. I did a filament swap halfway through and really like the results of that. For the top, I oriented the two slides to be touching the build plate and used supports and that came out good as well. It's been a while since I printed, but I believe I scaled the model up by 4% since it didn't originally fit, but 4% ended up working really well. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd love to see if you end up making one!
*5/23/2024: I realized I had the wrong scale, I have reuploaded the correct size now.
