This model is for a Brio compatible as well as Duplo compatible train car. It's based on a 6x2 Duplo brick and has magnets on each end to mate with existing Brio cars. Each car requires the following printed parts: 1 Body, 4 wheels, and 2 Magnet Washers. It also requires two thumb tacks, two 10mm magnets (mine are 2.65 mm thick) with a hole in center and CA glue.
To assemble simply push on the 4 wheels. Glue on a magnet washer to the train car body. The open side of the washer points out. Next glue in the magnet and push the thumb tack thru the center of the magnet and magnet washer into the body. The hole in the body is smaller than the thumb tack diameter to ensure components stay in place so force is required to insert. repeat procedure for other end of train car. The magnets, magnet bases and thumb tacks are small parts that can cause a choking hazard for young children. Ensure everything is glued well and the thumb tack is held in tight.
When installing the magnets they need to have the north pole of the magnet pointing out on one end of the train car and the south pole pointing out on the other end. My magnet is indented on one side so makes it easy to determine proper orientation. Indented side in on one side of car and indented side out on the other side. If yours doesn't have these features, mate the 2 magnets together. Take a Sharpie pen and mark the 2 outside surfaces. These marked surfaces will be opposite poles and will point out when installed.
