I needed a case for a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ which I was planning on using to create a Flightradar24 tracking station. The Pi required an RTL-SDR dongle and a Flightaware 1090MHz ADS-B filter to also be connected so I decided to try and adapt an existing case to include an accessory bay where these additional components could be mounted.
As the Pi was going to be working 24/7 and was getting quite warm, I decided to also fit it with a heatsink/fan to help keep it cool and found a very nice & cheap one on Amazon

This meant I had to increase the height of the top section of the case to allow the heatsink to fit.
To mount the accessory tray, I used some M3 standoffs and attached them to the VESA mount holes on the main case.
Why not build your own ADS-B tracking station?
