2 Player Fidchell - a modern take on an Ancient game (Multicolor)

This 250mm diameter Fidchell board is divided into parts, making it perfect for a multicolor 3D print that highlights the board’s intricate design. Fidchell is a game of ancient strategy where players must connect the king to the outer ring while outmaneuvering opponents. This version is designed for two players, with each section of the board ready to be printed in different colors. Bring the legendary game of Fidchell to life with a multicolored board that enhances the gameplay experience.

Designed for stability, this version includes magnetic pieces to ensure secure gameplay in any setting.

Printing Advice

The board has been separated into part that you can color any way you like. Though according to myth the board is Silver with Golden edges and the pieces are gold and white gold.

Magnets

A total of 163 magnets are used in this game, be sure to have some in spare as well. The magnets are super magnets measuring Ø3mm x 1mm, glued in place for secure gameplay. It can be a bit challenging to insert them, so make sure all magnets are aligned correctly. A helpful trick is to assemble one game piece first and use it as a reference. Applying a dab of superglue on the magnet and holding it in place on the board works well.

Take your time, check the magnet directions often, and consider investing in some de-bond

This interpretation of the mythical Fidchell was proposed by Nigel Suckling after his extensive reading and study of sagas and myths that reference the game. In collaboration with him, we at Nye Dimser are proud to present a 3D-printable version of the game, incorporating a few modifications to the rules and board. To be clear - no board has for certain been found, therefore this version is based on speculation.
