An adapter to use you Makita 18V batteries as a powerbank to charge any USB device.
Usage
So far I used the charger on holiday and on a boat trip. It kept my tablet and phone fully charged for at least 48 hours of continuous use. Including keeping the screens on all the time while navigating. ( Logging the route and navigating on the water ).
Just one 5amp and still plenty of power left. I did notice the charger uses power when not in use. It is not much but it will drain the battery in several days. That is why prototype 2 has the switch.
Remix
The remix is an addition to the modular design of Yanev. I changed the power switch 6A unit to hold an USB charger and to act as a cover too.
Thanks
Thanks to https://www.printables.com/@Yanev for making the original design. It prints perfectly and fits very nice to the batteries.
Cooling
The first prototype had the ventilation in the cover, but it turned out is does not get hot at all. I tested with a tabled and 2 smartphones at the same time. But even after an hour of charging all 3 the cover was not warm.
Parts
You can use the connector plate from Yanev or buy an imitation from Ali for € 0,91. I choose the Ali one because the connectors to the battery are much better than my bodge job with prototype 1.
