This is button which holds two magnets (I used bambu 4 mm diameter, 2 mm thick magnets) which when made in a pair will join together instantly and hold with an amount of force. Useful for keeping cosplay clothing layers in place or accessories positioned correctly. You can set each magnet to face the same direction, or opposing directions, for different purposes.

This version has the sewing holes offside on a plate on the side of the button, useful when the closure needs to be from side-to-side not face-to-face like in the normal version.

Worked fine in PLA with 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layer height.

To assemble:

  1. Print at least 2 buttons
  2. Push magnets into spaces, firmly using a hard object to ensure they are flush
  3. Test the pair of buttons to ensure the magnet orientations are good
  4. Place a small amount of super glue over the top of the magnets and the button. (I found it was better to place it on top, not inside at the base of the magnet.)

If you download the .3mf file for bambu studio you can edit the 4 negative torus position/sizes which produce the sewing holes.
