Refer to the assembly model to see how everything fits together.
The plunger assembly uses a 23/32 inch diameter by 3-1/2 inch long compression spring; i.e. Prime-Line Products, model SP 9711, which is available on Amazon. The spring length needs to be cut in half to fit in the plunger. The plunger assembly consists of an inner and outer sleeve to cover the spring. The spring resides in these sleeves situated above the lid, and the spring is compressed & uncompressed up and down along the plunger rod. Some of the parts will require gluing so make sure that everything fits together properly before committing to glue & make sure you become familiar with how the plunger works and how the pieces interact. The plunger knob is glued to the top sleeve and to the top of the plunger rod. The lower sleeve is glued to the top of the canister lid. The bottom of the plunger rod is glued to the lower filter catcher but make sure it is fed through the lid first, with the spring in place, before gluing. Inner & outer sleeves need to move freely so make sure not to glue those together.
To facilitate the alignment of the top lid with the bottom canister, assemble the hinges together first, sliding a 3 dia. x 55mm rod through the aligned holes. Place the top lid over the canister and ensure a proper fit. Drop the top hinge over the top of the lid and glue it in place.
Sorry I don’t have any photos of a built unit. It was given away before I had a chance to take pictures :(.
