@Crafter64 Wow, nice work! Can't wait to see those final touches. Hope everything goes as planned for you.
@3DVJModels the testing is coming along. My 30mmx4 version is easier to play. I'm going to print a different length of resonance tubes before I publish the whole set since the lengths I chose had a strange interference pattern in the sound.
@3DVJModels I said "fipple size" but was thinking of the Sound Hole. That's one of the variations I'm playing with.
@Crafter64 I agree, I already happened to remove those files. I’m curious what you might have changed. I know you mentioned changing the fipple size but wondering if there were any other thoughts.
@3DVJModels I think you should revert. They were good files, they just took a lot of air (as expected). - So far, my first design works well. It produces a clear sound. The modifications are still printing.
@Crafter64 Interesting, thinking I should revert to the old files again. I do apologize this didn’t work out for you. I am curious on your results in attempting to produce a clear sound, I will see what I can do as well. If you don’t mind keeping me updated I would greatly appreciate it! (edited)
@3DVJModels I printed the new one at 200% (purple-pink). Fast settings just to try it so it's not as strong (and a bit more stringy) than it should be. No luck on getting sound. The original worked better. - I am working on a more scientific method now testing the variables to produce the clear sound. That's the modular green-purple one on the left.
@Crafter64 Would love to hear how it turns out! (and no worries on time)
I thought I’d attempt to make a fix for existing whistles. Especially if it keeps from printing a whole new one!
@3DVJModels Looks like I'll have to load up the model and try it! (might take a couple of days to get back)
@Crafter64 Just went ahead and uploaded new changes which makes the slits on the underside of the whistle smaller on the bigger sizes. I am hoping this would allow for the air to be more focused on where it needs to go and also makes it so it shouldn't be as hard to blow.
I also went ahead and made a small insert for your 200% scale version in hopes to close that hole better. That file is located in the Old Original SnapFIt Folder! Hope it works out for you! (edited)
@Crafter64 Appreciate your make and feedback! Looks like I didn’t pay attention to the hole when I scaled these up. Now, I understand how the 200% model suffered from this which makes it require a lot of air. I will be sure to edit those holes and I will let everyone know when it is updated! Thanks again! (edited)
The 100% version is great. The 125% works. The 200% is almost unplayable and needs a ton of air. It would benefit from having smaller fipple holes. I'm sure the kids in my life are going to love the little ones. I'll be making a few more at 100%
