This tool tray mounts directly in the front of the Snapmaker U1 using the shipping screws. It holds the scraper, snips, cleaning brush, hex keys, spare spring, spare screw bags, and has two extra storage areas. Fits flush to the front of the printer and matches the radius and profile of the curves.

Benefits of the Design:

This design gives access to all of the tools and many of the spare parts included with the U1. The scraper can be slid out from under the pliers without removing them, and they can be stored without needing to use the jaw cover (it still fits with it as well). The brush can be removed without disturbing the allen/hex key drivers. There is easy access for fingers to reach and remove all of the tools.

There are slots for the spare screw bags, which can be folded up, and placed into the slots near the spatula. Additionally, there's two generic smooth pockets where screws or other small spare parts can be placed and still easily removed.

Inspiration and Thanks:

I was inspired by similar designs ( Snapmaker U1 Toolbox Tray, Snapmaker U1 tool tray - no supports - remix, Snapmaker U1 Front Tool Tray with Customizable Insert ) but unhappy with a couple of the details of each. And greatly benefited from using their reference to double check my own measured dimensions! So big kudos to them!

(Why redesign? The polygon count, and sharp corners weren't great feeling for fingers and resulted in some strange overhangs that give warnings, and the use of space meant that some tools had to be removed to access others. No other design I found matched aesthetically and blended well with the curves and front of the printer)

I included the step file, hopefully this helps anyone else to make other cool things to go in this space as well!

Printing Tips:

Rotate 45 degrees around the Z axis and center and it will fit no problem on the U1 bed. The large lower radius may seem like it demands support, but is unnecessary as there was minimal sag, and any sagging filament wont be seen, and does not interfere with the fitment.

I printed at 0.2 mm layer height sliced with Snapmaker Orca using the Snapmaker default out of the box PLA profiles. Used the included in the box filament. Would look even better in white or black!

Note: The glass transition temperature of PLA is 55-65 \u00b0C. If you plan on enclosing the printer or adding a heater ABS/ASA or a higher temp material is recommended!

Use two of the short shipping screws which held down bed retention plastic to mount the tray.
