Clippy is a climbing clip stick I designed to be affordable, reliable and adaptable. Most clip sticks on the market are ridiculously overpriced, so I made one that\u2019s easy to print and built to last.

The screw mechanism lets you attach it to almost any pole under 30mm\u2014selfie sticks, umbrellas, trekking poles, broom handles and even tree branches. It also has a hole for harness attachment. Although it is made to clip the first bolt, it can also be used to \u201ccheat\u201d through hard moves (you should probably try sending though, you can do it).

I\u2019ve tested it with a bunch of quickdraws from Black Diamond, Metolius, CAMP, Petzl and Climbtech. All work very good, but some do work slightly better than others. So I included the STEP file if you want adjustments.

Printing tips:

Print it in PETG
No supports required
0.3 layer height is super good enough
4 perimeters for the screw
100% infill for the gate opener
100% sectorized infill for the threaded wall and its opposing wall.
Note: The tolerances in the model work for a relatively calibrated printer. If you are having issues with the screw just scale x and y axis (not z!) of the screw to 99.5%.

V2.0:

Some edges are smoother
Screw wall is significantly thicker to prevent cracking from overtightening (it can now be tightened pretty well without compromise)
Screw tolerance revision
Minor geometry revisions for printability
Screw diameter is wider and it is way easier to use thinner poles.
