I like that you fixed instead of throwing it away! I have printed about 5 of them and handed them out to friends, none of them broke during use. I know two instances of users that did break the tabs. One of them tried to pull the tower back apart and the other one used supports (they were hard to remove).
Your just worked ok and one time you pressed down and the tower came flying off breaking the two tabs? What type of filament did you use?
In any case thanks for your feedback and suggestions and kudos for the fix!
Okay, I might update the design with a hole just above the stairs and a slot in the outer wall where you could place a grub screw (or bolt even). It is in quite an inconspicuous place
@Rossero Thank you for your response. I used ANYCUBIC PLA filament with a diameter of 1.75 mm. The layer height is 0.2 mm, the wall thickness is set to 3 lines, the infill density is 15%, and I selected the "Tree" support structure.
Perhaps it was a user error. I slightly lifted the tower because it was still stuck at the bottom.
The tower looks very good and works. But the first thing that breaks are the two pins at the bottom of the tower.
Since I didn’t want to throw the tower away, I used a soldering iron to melt a notch and added a stop. Then, I simply screwed two 6mm grub screws through the holes in the outer tower.
Maybe you could create a more stable version, or one designed specifically for grub screws. Then it would be a 5-star product. (edited)
