This group was created by me personally, because I like using it for creating my models at home. It has no ties to the official project and is in no form sponsored or anything.

What is FreeCAD?

FreeCAD is an open-source 3D parametric modeler. In popular speech called a \u201cCAD System\u201d. Is allows you to create single parts, assemblies, drawings and so on.

Where can I download FreeCAD?

Official Release here: https://www.freecad.org/downloads.php?lang=de
Bleeding edge (weekly builds): https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bundle/releases/tag/weekly-builds (they have got the latest features, but might be unstable. Use at own risk!)
Realthunders so calles Assembly3 version: https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD/releases. He is the guy who put lot's of energy into solving FreeCADs worst problem, the topological naming problem (TNP)

Where can I find tutorials to get started?

CAD software can sometimes have quite a steep learning curve. For FreeCAD there's lots of useful information:
