When the XL originally shipped, filament join was in the future, but came with a firmware update. I have been under the impression that you had to be at the printer to set it up. Anyway I have found the “hidden” feature in prusaconnect that lets you do this remotely.
Basic documentation of how to do this on the Printer is found here: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/tools-mapping-and-filament-mapping-xl-mmu3_732461
- You start out as always, sending your gcode to Connect

- However you CANT schedule your print at this time, you must ONLY COPY it to the printer

- Next in prusaslicer you go to the Connect tab

- You have to wait until your g-code is uploaded to your printer (I think)

- Next You MAY have to click HERE (Yes its a button)

- Then click on “Printer Files” (note this is different that “Connect Files” , Connect files are files in the cloud, Printer files are files ON your printer)

- Find your file (most likely the one on the top) NOW DONT RIGHT CLICK, but just click on your file

- You are almost there, YOU HAVE TO SCROLL DOWN, you cant see what you want

- You found it!

- You now click on each of the G-Code filaments on the left, and you can reassign them and/or join them on the right
