Nice model!
Could it be that the hole in the "head" was forgotten in this model, because I do not have a hole there to put the "shaft" trough. (edited)
@AdtMeister_250217 My bad. I've just replaced the wrong file.
This is great, I love it!
@schmidtflo yay! first make! awesome, thanks for sharing 🤩
@Henry I'd give you one in exchange for that shiny new printer 😁 thanks for sharing.
@sui77 No thanks, the printer makes a fantastic photo box.
Very nice and simple design, better than most designs that require pneumatic fittings.
i like the design, but the numbers are in the wrong place. all opposite numbers should equal 7.
@robinjc80_476616 Damn, you're absolutely right. Thought I did but guess I somehow flipped 2 and 3 after correctly putting 1 and 6 to opposite sides. Fixed it :)
Really clever idea and printed quickly (~35 minutes even with filament swaps on my X1C)! Unfortunately, the "hooks" that overhang the "rods" flex a lot during assembly, and left white stress marks near the edges. I think if you changed the geometry of the "rods," you'd be able to support them during printing and limit the amount of flex necessary for assembly. Still though, this is super cool and I'd love to see more designs like this! Absolutely great work!
arnt u passing the problem on
how are you disposing of this ?
so you throw this in the bin - the bag goes into the truck that compacts it crushing the container.
now any 1 who has to sought sift or rumage through that pile has your sharps to deal with.
ways to deal with this is blow torch to ball up the needle into a puddle
that a: stops the "sharps" part and b: kills anything in on the needle
30sec more work holding the syringe in the blue cone of the flame
youtube search term -- jewelry making balling wire
or
electric furnace are 300$ dump this box in for 1hr (edited)
@sir_miss_alot These containers are commonly used in medical settings to get rid of needles immediately after usage and reduce your own risk of improper handling. Used them a lot when serving in a hospital but no idea how they were finally disposed. I suppose there are procedures for that.
@sir_miss_alot
A lot of trash services or cities generally have a reference for this. And if you were to use this container in a residential setting and throw it into your trash, that may be perfectly acceptable in certain areas. For instance, our city shows this for sharps:
Needles should be placed in a sturdy plastic container with a tight-fitting lid, such as a laundry detergent bottle. The bottle then needs to be taped shut and labeled "SYRINGES," "SHARPS" or "NEEDLES." The bottle can then be placed in your regular trash. DO NOT put this container in your recycling.
Of course this is assuming residential usage not lab or medical waste.
