I have been exploring an interface to integrate MMSS modules into the new UMSS.
After refining the concept, this is what I came up with (see image)... I’m aware of the significant loss of usable area, as the MMSS modules are larger—approximately 36mm compared to the UMSS's 30mm.
In simpler terms, an MMSS module of 36mm² needs a 60mm² interface in the UMSS. It's not quite double, but close.
This increase requires upscaling to fit the new dimension. Larger modules change the area ratio that can be gain (the larger the better).
I'm hesitant to move forward, but before abandoning the project, I wanted your feedback.

Is it worth pursuing?

... and 2 days after thinking about this :) ...
I've come to the conclusion that the best option would better to have a way to use the MMSS parts in the latest UMSS. Therefore, for those who choose this route, here is the option, now available to everyone at: https://www.printables.com/model/1039315-interface-for-mmss-to-umms

@jorge_rui I like the idea of magnets - its easier to rearrange and lift out and transfer to a "to-go" box etc. And I like the bigger bases who minimize lost space. I printed mmss modules, and the "double suitcase" etc. But magnets I guess is better for drawers, walls etc?
Bringing the systems together with a converterbase, although bigger footprint, seems nice.

A few weeks ago, someone asked me if it was possible to buy the hex keys that come with the Bambu Lab A1, because the X1 and P1 models are provided with simple keys. At the time, I said this would be an easy problem to solve, either by contacting the company or by having someone make handles to adapt to those keys. Here they are, along with the respective module for the UMSS, as well as other modules that I’ve made available in the meantime. I hope you like them, more modules are on the way...

Already available for all my club members.

The X1C and P1 are receiving their initial modules for the UMSS:

- HotEnd; straightforward and comprehensive (including fan and sock), completed;
- HotEnd silicone sock, completed;
- Top lids and side labels for the box, completed.

Additionally, a wide range of modules is available across all other UMSS sub-projects.
Further modules for these printers are expected to be released shortly. All module where redesigned for use on vertical and horizontal scenarios.

Attached an example of application with Prusa Parts on a drawer.

Hello, I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to remind you that I have just launched a new universal modular system, which I consider to be very versatile and an easy project, but above all, extremely fun to assemble and use. I’m sharing a 30-second clip so you can get an idea (the order of the pieces and the layers is random, and it is also not necessary to stack the boxes). https://www.youtube.com/shorts/eb3cMWnqxgM
The example given is with modules for Prusa, but several modules have already been created for Bambu Lab.

I hope you enjoy it!

Very cool system, Jorge, and great little video. I hope this takes off like Gridfinity -- I see some real advantages here, at least for certain uses. (edited)

I don't know. While it can definitely prove useful for many, and I can see the value of having such a flexible storage system, I think it is a bit to "heavy" filament and print time wise. It Isalso to large for my available work space (which it ain't much). I kinda love your leaf type storage though, given its footprint being relatively small and providing easy access to everything one might need ( https://www.printables.com/model/858094-storage-tree-leaf-for-bambu-lab-tools).

Hi. Just to let you know that there are already some new things for Bambu Lab and Prusa, mostly free.

By the way, I've managed to upload a bunch of blank modules for those who want to make their own modules.

And an example of application: https://youtu.be/uGhX8t15-n4?si=g-cd_0yd6ow2kRHZ

... and the screw heads then scratch the surface? The construction doesn't seem ideal to me. 🤔 The website for the blades is also reported by ublock, so you might want to be careful.

Used the A1 mini and also the X1c modules. All printed perfectly!

@Araneae_2393188 Thank you very much for showing the result of your print, it is excellent. Not to mention the rating, which is outstanding. I'm glad someone appreciates this work.

Thank you.

Hello, dear friends. I won’t take up much of your time, but I wanted to let you know that my new project, UMSS, is now available to everyone. This is one of the most extensive projects I've ever done related to 3D printing. Part of this project was already available to 'my club' members, but today, it's open to the entire community. I believe it can be useful to all of you, no matter what printer you have.
You can find the start of the project here, and then go from there:
https://www.printables.com/model/947943-umss-universal-modular-storage-system

I hope you find it as useful and enjoyable as I do!

Printed out of some Overture black matte PLA and Prusament white PLA. Used the blank modules with some holes to store my nozzles. Very nice fitment, thanks for the model!

@Sevirium_548620 That looks amazing. And the nozzles tips is a nice idea!
thanks for show this !

Fantastic organizer. Not only this looks great, but also enables me to keep all my most used tools organized.
Thank you

@ondrejm_227275 Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback! Also, a special thanks for being the first person to share the printed model. It's amazing to see the final result!
