I can't tune the parameters on OpenSCAD. Even with your defaults I don't get the same thing as you have. Any advice? Thanks.
I apologize there was an issue with the translation. I just updated in the .scad file.
@ahaque_263851 Awesome, thanks for the updated .scad, I was having the same problem as Martin.
I printed a couple of these in TPU and passed them around a party last night. It was loads of fun to play with them. Nice work, I'm looking forward to playing with the .scad file now that it's rendering well.
For me it turned out mono stable, cant keep it in enlarged position. Not much designs of auxetic materials here, so appreciate it either way!
@KaliM That's unfortunate! It could be better tuning of t and theta. I couldn't get PLA to work, it would snap every time. Only had luck with TPU.
Needed this for work. Printed really well and fast, looks functional, still have to test it out on a living patient. Might make the ends round next time for more nasal comfort. Thanks for the model.
Could someone tell me about how hard it is to solve? I need to know how long it will keep my little brother busy for.
The given assembly technique works when the puzzle is loose. A better technique is to assemble three pieces into 1/2 the puzzle, do the same with the other three pieces, and slide the two halves together. (edited)
Fun example of how difficult it is to write a specification.
