Mein Gecko und meine Hakennasennatter finden die Höhle toll
My gecko and my hook-nosed snake love the cave
it's a good clean print. printed with PLA, and coated with grout/sealer I had from previous terrarium projects (I agree that minwax polycrylic is a great sealer for geckos).
I kind of feel the opening isn't tall enough, I might print a second time at like 120% scale... But I wont know if my Leo will fit good in it for 2 weeks, till the grout/sealer fully airs out.
the only other thing I'd change is adding a bit more play on the lip. the top goes on the bottom good and all, maybe make the groove in the top a pinch wider. if anyone prints this, and uses grout - take care not to get any of the grout/sealer on the surface where the top meets the bottom.
@mrdave_388419 Wonderful write up, thanks for sharing your print! The final looks great.
The mating surfaces I actually didnt expect to be grouted, on mine I only sealed them with MinWax to maintain the flush look, but scaling up for larger lizards would also work I'd imagine.
It looks like the dice can escape easily when folded up - that wuld contradict the "carrier" :D Or is the opening small enough so normal dice should not be able to escape`?
@WhatTheLeberk_180522 The short wall of the tray covers the open side of the tower when folded, there is a small (~10mm ish) gap but much too small for any dice
When ever I go to slice these the interior dividers disappear. Both the 50 and 100 round box. I have tried increasing wall thickness and that does not seem to bring them back. They are displayed in prepare but once sliced they are gone. Ran a test print and just ended up with an empty box
@Darqhemet_2958740 Turn on 'print thin walls' in Cura, or whatever the equivalent is in your slicer.
