This type of issue on a cable should not be hidden.
This is a fire risk and the cable should be binned.
@whatthedickens Thank´s for your comment, which I really think you should take into account. However if only the outer insulating layer was damaged (which is often the problem, it shouldn't pose any danger to further use of the cable. And what's more, repairing is often the more climate-friendly method compared to throwing it away and buying new. Think about this aspect.
