Perfect
Got that sucker out of the way and no longer touches the bed. Beats making an entire cable snake!
Looks very cool, but when importing to SuperSlicer, the tree is not scaled to the correct size and results in a miniature, smaller than the base itself.
@NMGMarques_288357 That would be me being a moron and uploading the wrong file after checking it three times...i replaced it with the correct one, thanks for the heads-up
@Toonerit it's all good, man. We should be thanking you for your contribution.
I saw this model and thought it looked really cool so I decided to take it to the next level. After some experimenting I ended up printing the tree in Polymaker Transparent PETG with 5 walls for strength. I then modified the base to include a column up the center to nearly the top of the tree and printed that in Polymaker Blue PETG (I really wish I'd had some green!) and wrapped that with a 3 foot string of individually addressable lights and added a grommet to the hole in the base. The result's are absolutely stunning in motion and it's going to be shipped out as a gift! (edited)
@ChrisOyler That's what i love about posting stuff on these websites, put there an idea and see it improved by others' skills. That looks really nice!
By the way, you do realize that now my Christmas Wishlist includes a video of the thing in motion, right? ;)
@Toonerit I'm glad you like it! I managed to get some videos of it in action, too!

I used a cheap set of LED's that I found on Amazon for only $16 but it does a great job! I'm sure that any set would work and you could easily go fancier with bluetooth or wifi controllers to take it to the next level!

Thanks again for posting this!
Not the best view, because it's on the monitor. Could only use one screw as I don't have a 75mm VESA mount, but I wasn't worried about needing spacers or anything, and one is more than enough to hold this in
Printed on Jayo PLA Black
Printed this cute little dragon as a lucky charm and encouragement for a first grade school kid. The blue one is 60% of original size with 0.2 layer, the green one is just 50% and 0.16 layer.
Shaft will not print at all, tried 6x and 1.2 layer height fast med or slow will not work, keeps getting stuck to print head after certain height
@Toonerit Awesome works good, thanx again, and so much smoother than the other life counter i made, and printed it in .2mm lh (edited)
@BrentH_1846887 Wonderful, thank you for testing. I updated the item details accordingly
Printed the mechanism out of PETG; so higher stringing. Modified top and bottom, so less plastic is used, but that reduced the visibilty of the counter.
The font of the numbers is not printer friendly; there are over the air overhangs and some elements are too thin to print nicely.
This was amazing for me, I spent almost a week trying to diagnose a problem that ended up being heat creep from the hotend fan not being properly attached, and the housing was broken, so this has fixed all my issues!! I love the spots for nuts as well.
