Tomek @Tomek I didn't mean your electronics, soldered by you. I meant cheap preamps from aliexpress. No custom electronics is needed for this project.
My Headless Bass ukulele is almost Finished. It's time to export STLs and print another prototype. However before I start - do you think I should add any kind of electronics to the bass like EQ, Tuner, Preamp? Now it's just piezo bridge directed to jack output.

Consider selling electronics for your instrument as this could make you some money for all the effort and time spent on this project.
Unfortunately I haven't manage to finish my ukulele by Christmas. During this time I was pretty busy spending time with my family :). So there was not much time to project and I didn't want this ukulele to be hex ukulele with some minor changes - but brand new ukulele packed with Christmas features.
Here are some of them:
- star shaped sound holes (100% done)
- Christmas tree-shaped head (100% done)
- snowflake-shaped tuner heads (in progress)
- new body shape with snowman embossed on the back (90% done - some internal structures needs to be polished so the body can still be printed without supports)
- dual color moon, Santa with reindeer and sleighs (still in progress)
As you can see - a lot work has been done but still a lot left to do. I promise I will be ready for this year Christmas. However if someone wants to get STL files of this work-in-progress I can send it - just let me know.
Happy new year Everyone!!!
This is awesome! I really appreciate your work!
Made hand made ornaments for family and needed quick boxes- super happy with the results of this.
Printed incredibly quick and pretty clean. Would recommended upping the heat on the bed and nozzle for the base and first few layers for better adhesion as I had to repair the first one I made do to some separation from the base.
Used hatchbox and Amolen plas for the boxes I made. Both did well.
Love the small details on the side of the ring, I am impressed by how well they printed. I shortened the hooks on the side and used them on top of a printed Christmas ball.

Hi there. It's Christmas time and I thought that it would be nice to make Sopranino ukulele in Christmas/winter flavor. What do you think? I got new Christmas tree shaped head designed and I am thinking about next edits. Any ideas? I thought about changing hexagons to snowflakes. or maybe snowflake-shaped soundhole? snowflake tuner handles?
You probably want to invert the depths so that the white parts get imprinted and the black parts stay elevated (so you can paint in with a food safe pen). Going to try today!
@CharlesKarpat_371525 the idea was that the lowered parts will turn darker because of the shade. Eventually you can fill the lowered parts with dark icing. But you get the code so you can change it the way you want. Your idea should also be possible.
I still haven't check if this project will work with cookies, but after printing the stanp and painting with sharpie the QR-code works, so I think this is the good news and this can really works with a real cookie (and if not this - maybe the bigger scale.
If you like my work and still have some free slots on the Printables Awards 2024 Nominations, please consider voting for me or my Hex ukulele project. It would be an honor to receive a nomination and I can promise that there will be more projects to print soon!
I'm tempted to try and make this, but does it sound good?
Do you have an indication of how much filament goes into the whole project?
@MichielDesmed_563256 I've uploaded the video on Youtube wit this ukulele. The strings are cheap color strings from Aliexpress so with decent strings the sound can be even better. The video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpsCmO4jvpg
@Tomek Looks awesome! I have put aside the uke for now though. I'm just learning how to play any guitar at all and the fretboard of the sopranino is just simply too narrow for my skill level :)
Very fun weekend project!
I can't tell if the sound is great, since I'm an absolute beginner, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't sound bad!
The action is a bit low though, so strumming is tricky, but that's to be expected at this size?
@MichielDesmed_563256 Nice job. The action on my ukuleles is ok. So maybe you have to tweak your ukulele a bit. You can always scale up bridge and/or saddle in Z direction. And remember to use higher tuning for sopranino ukulele.
My new hex bass ukulele should have...
Also works with the Kazoo designed by @PistonPin . Great model - will be using it with the kazoo at my next Uke club session.
