@Dave_40140 Hey thanks. Its the print order for the walls. In my case it eliminates PETG-Stringing when printing more than one piece at once.
Gave this a try as the model looked promising, however I had a bit of trouble with it. Generally I feel the design doesn't properly incorporate 3D printing principles, but the important dimensions are spot on compared to an original Duplo brick.
I added some star designs around the sides to make it look a bit more appealing. I used random seam positioning to avoid tolerance issues, but in retrospect I should have painted the seam to have it in a non-critical area.
The model was relatively hard to print, the walls have very little contact with the print bed, and detached a couple of times. I couldn't use a brim as this would also fill the area around the central pillar. In the end I used a skirt and fiddled with the g-code to make it act like a brim on the outer perimeter only.
The slicer threw up some warnings about unsupported areas, this was caused by the little hemispheres on the underside - I fixed this by adding negative part cylinders to remove them.
I would have liked to see a slight chamfer on the mating features to aid in attaching this brick to others - it was quite hard to line them up properly. The female mating feature was slightly too tight, whereas the male mating feature was too loose, probably caused by slight warping in the doughnut shaped stud features. Also, all the edges are quite sharp, I would like to see these broken slightly to make it more pleasant to handle.
Once put into use, the central pillar broke quite quickly as it has small unsupported pieces which are susceptible to weaknesses in the layer interfaces.
I suggest this model is updated to make it a bit more robust, if I have time I will remix it.
Hey, I'm glad to hear that. Gave me a big smile to see your make. Thank you very much.
@Alucardi_19413 hey, thanks for your feedback. I am curious to see how the bracket will perform as it is upside down.
Hi, great idea! Too bad I don't have the growbox anymore. Your plants seem to have some deficiencies though, the color of the new leaves is too light, maybe an effect of the photo with the lamp on?
@Bo330 maybe the light at 100%. The plants are pretty healthy atm.
