Nice optimization for 3D printing with the octagonal head shape!

My print settings:

Material: PETG
Layer Height: 0.15
Infill % : 90
Supports: Yes
Support Type: Grid
Print Orientation: Default as modeled

@RemlURelmI_2427798 Thanks for posting the original model! I used ASA and your print setup. It's installed in the truck, I forgot to take a pic. It was a new spool that I hadn't calibrated for, so the disc bottoms printed poorly...octagons fixed that and work the same with the engine cover. I flattened the bottom of the head to match the Honda parts I have, and thickened the extrusions between the discs to better retain the part in my engine cover.

First thank you for everything you did to make this simple. I'm excited to print my ball vise!

It does appear that the fractal jaw inserts are missing from the files in this remix. I could be blind... (edited)

@JohnAllison_1413309 The remixes contain just the files I needed to modify. For the fractal jaws please print the STL's from the original project.

Thanks so much for taking the time to convert this all to USA hardware!

I'm wondering if there is a consolidated Bill of Materials somewhere for all the hardware. I see you list the changes compared to the original(s) but as someone looking to print this for the first time, a simple list of extra hardware would be incredibly appreciated.

Something like:
10 of X bolts,
8 of Y bolts,
5 of X nuts,
15 of Y nuts,
Length of X threaded rod, etc.

I'm getting a bit lost as far as where to start for my list of hardware to grab from Home Depot/elsewhere while trying to go back and forth between your three remixes and the D-Series instructions to compare what hardware I actually need to purchase.

@bolens Unfortunately there's no single BOM and set of instructions, just work through the original designs substituting any changes I made. If I recall correctly, for the first remix I replaced all the hardware. Check the original design or fusion file for quantites. The second didn't change hardware. The third uses mostly USA hardware, but I think I used a couple common metric bolts from the original because I had them on hand (sorry about that). Those sizes Home Depot should carry, or #8 or #10 bolts of similar length should work. Good luck!

@bolens Someone made a BOM for ThatRobHuman's metric remix. https://rentry.co/fwda5kqy If you can go through it, swap out the entries for imperial, then I'm pretty sure everyone here will greatly appreciate it!

Edit: The creator of the metric BOM is https://www.printables.com/@IBNobody_123251 ! (edited)

These STLs are relatively low resolution. Is there any chance we can get step files for these models?

Its awesome that you updated the hardware on this design for easier to source hardware.

I was wondering will this work with the new XL base?

@Petr_Patter_166503 Thanks, XL replaces Bottom and Bottom Cover. Ball and Nut Ring work with the XL base.

Thank you for making a US version when I couldn't be bothered >.<

Very clever idea to add the ribs. I think I'll be doing that to any future builds of mine that I do.
