I keep getting this gap when i slice the file, do you have any idea why?
Changed the design a little bit to use a DC/DC with a USB Socket onboard and to make it a little bit easier for kids to solder the parts and place them in the housing, since I choosed the handcrank generator as the project for this years "girls and boys day" (a national One-day taster internship for schoolchildren here in germany). I think the pupils had fun building it and they could take their self-built generator home with them.
I also tested the output beforehand with a USB Tester and the max current I coul draw was around 1,25 A. (edited)
I love how compact and professional looking the design is. My only gripe is more with the hardware for this project. The Max98357A dac/amp is just so under powered for a speaker of this size. The speaker speced is 5w RMS 10w max but the amp is really only good for about 2.5-3w with the small power budget afforded by the usb connection on the board. I am planning down the road to try and put speaker fabric over the speaker grate to see how that looks but over all a great design and a fun project. (edited)
