Successful project. I printed it without supports on MK4S.
Children very happy.
@Maciej0_782359, Great! That's always great to hear!!
This printed perfectly. My mini lost a window from their set and with this design, I could print multiple so they can make more new designs. Thank you! (edited)
Matterhackers build pla 0.2 mm layers, support from build plate. Came out very well just as all of the others. I only had 3 of the originals so this made it possible to make a 4x4 base. Thanks for the model!
Only suggestion I would have is to round the corners where it’s 90degrees. With being printed they’re very sharp, I heated mine up with a lighter and pressed them down as I cut my finer on them getting down on the floor.
Matterhackers build PLA red. 0.2 mm layer height. Printed with supports from build plate, and came out great. Thanks for the model! Look forward to any other Lincoln log models you upload!
@MrNobody you are welcome! Have enjoyed all the pieces! I guess the rest of the accessory pieces would be nice such as the half thickness logs for the first building layer (see picture) , very easy to mod your current design for this by just cutting in half. Then also all the parts for the roofs would be a nice addition! (see Pic). Just suggestions if it is something that interests you!
@kornon, you are absolutely right, the half thickness logs would be a super easy mod to my current design and I have already started on those and plan to post them tomorrow!
I also love those roof pieces! Unfortunately I don’t own any of those pieces myself, but if you’re willing to send me a few more pictures and possibly some dimensions, I am fairly confident that I could use that and what I find online to make a roof model and post that as well!
Printed in matterhackers orange pla 0.2 mm layers. Came out well, but does seem to be a bit longer (~2mm, see Pic) than the 80s original I have, these single pieces may have varied in size over the years since the length is not critical. The slot is spot on in sise as are the rest of the dimesnions. Works great, thanks!
@MrNobody Of Course! I am going to print some more of these to use with my set, and will let you know how it goes. Would be interested in some more models of more logs if you make them.
@kornon, I do actually have all of the files for a triple and quadruple piece! The quadruple is split into two pieces because at the time I was printing on a Prusa Mini+ and I couldn’t fit the whole part on the build plate. I also have window and door models that I plan to upload today!
turning radius is too sharp. Battery powered trains get jammed or derail.
Fits very well and is quick to print. I used 3 perimeters for more stability in the middle
I used my Carvera CNC to mill it out of wood instead of 3D-printing it. Love the Model, but some trains get stuck :/
It fit nicely, but smaller Trains /wagons can't drive thru. (edited)
Works well, just a tight enough turn to allow the trains to make it. Saves a lot of hair pulling! Thanks.
Model is designed well, but only fits 4 wheeled trains. Pic shows this model (left) connected to the long locomotive version (right) on Thingiverse ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2830100).
@JoeT, thank you for your feedback! I completely agree with you about the tight turn radius. This was something I noticed as well after printing the model. My primary goal for this model was to create a design that aligns with other popular prints, like the long locomotive version on Thingiverse ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2830100), but with a focus on compatibility with smaller printers, such as the Prusa Mini. As a result, this model is tailored more towards those who have smaller print beds and may not have the capability to print larger models that accommodate bigger trains. It's definitely a trade-off between size and compatibility, and I appreciate your feedback in highlighting this aspect. If there are any specific suggestions or requests you have for future models, I'm all ears and would love to incorporate them into my designs. Thanks again for your insight and for trying out the model!
Hi, I started printing a load of these, until I found you had not designed any triangular roof pieces. Is it yor intention to do them at all? I have tried other makers, but not will fit your 'half-width' logs. Any help appreciated.
