Works quite well to hang my headphones from my desk leg. I had issues with other magnetic headphone holders not having enough magnets to properly hold my headphones but this one works perfectly with a couple modifications.
I used Prusa Slicer to add more holes for magnets and to make the existing holes slightly deeper since the magnets I used are around 3.1mm thick.
I used neodymium N52 grade magnets glued in the holes with alternating north/south orientation which can increase the pull of the magnetic field. I then covered the back with an adhesive non-slip rubber strip to prevent it from sliding down when my headphones are dropped on it and to protect the magnets from damage.
Was all this extra work really needed? I don't know since I did not print a normal version, but my custom version is not moving anywhere without applying considerable force to pull it off a metal surface.
Printed using 0.2mm layer height with 4 perimeters for extra strength and no supports. (edited)
I didn't know that alternating the north and south will give you more pull. Need to keep that in mind for future projects. I like your idea of the non slip rubber.
Perfect <3 rescaled it to 50x50 to fit perfectly to my rotho loft fridge organizer. Labelled them with my new label machine and printed it with PCTG from 3D jake as it should be food safe. A different cap with holes or other outlets would be nice but it‘s ok for now :-D
Fits perfect
Great fit! Just glued a little magnet to it and works/glides perfectly with PLA+ on my mousemat
