Having designed a different DIY kabuki drop system in the past I'm curious about a few things:
- How much weight will those catches support before they bind up?
- Is there a 'failsafe' mode if an actor (or unruly audience member) grabs the curtain and yanks?
- Any accommodation for safety cables?

@aonomus Sry for the late reply, somehow I had no notification about your comment.
For your questions:
- I had no chance to check in real life condition (mounted to 50mm pipe ect.) but my test with 5 kg of dead weight did show just slightly deformation. If this system will see heavy use I already checked pricing for getting the white parts SML printed (metal)
- I have not had the opportunity to have a detailed look to a "professional" system for such details so I don't really know what you mean by "failsafe" mode
- I thought about adding something like a safety cable but it's not implemented so far (edited)
