When I decided to magnetize my OpenLock tiles I tried a bunch of different styles to see which one was the best performing/most cost effective. I won't lie: this was not the clip that I eventually settled on. But it was my runner up, which is why I ended up printing 80 of the things to make use of the magnets I bought. It's pretty strong, not too hard to put together, and fully compatible with the OpenLock magnetic connection system by Singularity Games (the self-aligning dual magnet clip they produced was what I ended up using for the rest of the project.
Worth considering though: the main reason the other design won was because getting the required magnets was so much cheaper. With the right sale or the right supplier though, I could see that changing. And the fact that it works with the Singularity design means it's one of the only designs where you can mix and match. So definitely worth considering this one.
Made this out of ABS on my Bambu X1C. Tilted to 45° so it would fit and painted on a few supports. A little resonance waving at the top (more supports would have helped).
My open box opal didn’t come with the drip tray. Terrible design on GEs part to require a drip tray 🙄.
