Also works as an always-powered Meshtastic node or display! Thanks for sharing this design!
printed with PLA on carbon fiber textured plate, perfect fit for the silicone button covers available at the etsy link the creator provides. Perfect fit!
I printed and used this enclosure for a ChatterBox node in my own private cluster, and it fits the e290 quite nicely.
As you can see, i had room to add a DS3231 realtime clock breakout and a 2000 mah battery. (edited)
Wonderful design, well done. This one is printed using Shore 95D TPU (TPU for AMS), on a Bambu X1C. This material provides good drop protection for itself and the electronics. Thank you for sharing your design.
Very nice, you'll definitely want to install the InkHUD UI to have the better Features for Eink, it's on the flasher (edited)
I would be awesome if there was a version of this one to hold a gps module/antenna
Looks great with the new InkHUD! Also, a right angle antenna pigtail makes the battery sit nicely
Great design. First time using this Matte Green Sunlu PLA and not quite happy with the print quality. That's on me. (edited)
This is awesome, any chance of a remix to support the e290 display?
@buchhla_872175 unfortunately the E290 has this really huge header that makes this build too hard to add much other than a keyboard, without making it super thick, so for now no.
Great design. Can you share the .step file please?
Really, really useful for me too! thankyou :-)
thanks for sharing. I followed your diagram and successfully made it today.
Do you know whether the Heltec Wireless Tracker can be soldered the same way also to cardkb?
@HarukiToreda thank you so much for sharing, and you inspired me to work on an enclosure design too. I love the idea of standalone communicator
@Blueskies_1801756 please do, i see lots of value in standalone communicators. This design is a simple base that was meant to be simple to print without rounded edges and little to no support needed to not waste material, but there is a need to make more ergonomic designs and better way to address the button situation. Which I have not had time to address. (edited)
Great design! I first built it with gps but then I realised the GT-u7 from ali express was DOA :( so I built it without the gps, with the added extra space I decided for remixing the case to take 18650 cells. Its now rocking 2x3500mAh in parallel so 7000mAh which is really nice! For such big capacity I also added 3amp fast charging ( 15 Watts) otherwise it would take forever with the original charging circuit to get back to full capacity. I probably gonna post a remix soon ;) (edited)
@ryanwww I did, you just have to check the available remixes of this model.
@LupusWorax Found it, thank you!
Works pretty well. I managed to snap off one of the latches when assembling but it still fits together. The big issue for me is that both of the buttons on the back triggered the reset. I fixed it by adding a cut between the vertical part of the button piece. So maybe a modified model, with a small gap added, between the two buttons, and slightly through the larger flat part, would help. Basically, almost cut the part in half, but leave it connected furthest from the buttons. That would help distinguish the buttons for the board.
Could you update the battery link? It looks like it was changed to a different sized battery.
EDIT - To anyone looking for the battery and not finding it on Amazon, just be patient and it will come back in stock eventually. The Amazon page is just spotty on availability. If you really can't manage to get it on Amazon, it is also available on their website with slower shipping https://www.makerfocus.com/products/makerfocus-3-7v-1100mah-lithium-rechargeable-battery-1s-3c-lipo-battery-with-protection-board-pack-of-4 .
Edit of edit - The same battery is also available on the Rokland website unbranded here https://store.rokland.com/collections/batteries/products/3-7v-1100mah-lithium-rechargeable-battery-1s-1c-lipo-battery-with-protection-board-with-micro-jst-1-25-plug (edited)
Excellent design and love version 2. I had printed version 1 in the same colors as the author but had a bad battery bulge the case. Version2 handles the battery soo much better with and the fit is spot on!
Are you going to have this in your Etsy store any time soon? I love it, but I'd end up buying batches of every part that I only need one of.
@WillJinks eventually yes
