Works very well and holds firmly on the shaft of the potentiometer. Keep in mind that the knob is designed for a sideways mounted potentiometer.

Seems to work quite well. Printed it in Hyper PLA but forgot to add extra walls, it still seems quite sturdy. Printed as shown (flat part on build plate) it needs tree supports for the 2 controller hooks, headset hook, and USB cable hook. All came out perfect. Thanks for the great model! (And for making one with an ACTUAL free license without silly restrictions, which doesn't also look like male genitalia).
Fantastic design, I love the look as it kind of looks like a mask of General Grievous from Star Wars now instead of a phallic! I did make a couple mods to it, mainly the installation of a safety catch in case it gets bumped off! I also added some slots for tie wraps as I mounted mine on the side of my stereo cabinet as it doubles as our charging station and is going to get knocked off otherwise! So I found a carabiner and a strap from something and tie wrapped it at the base and told the kids clip that on then hang it and its caught it twice so far when bumped off! Speaking of, it does come off the nose catch very easily and upon inspection, I see the apex of the nose catch seems too high as it doesn't catch any where else but that tip. So I file off about an 1/8" as you can see in my pic and to me it sits much more sturdy! Thanks again!!
Thanks for the make and feedback. I think the nose catch tolerance is dependent on what facial interface is used. I'll update the description. It works great for the one we have at least, which I recommend for value and comfort:

This is a very cool development of my model. I like it a lot!
@franktrebin_863245 - OMG, the man himself. Thank you. :) I learned so much from analyzing your design. It is SOO good, and so clever. I can't say enough nice things about it.
My wife likes it so much she bought a fire extinguisher to give to her Dad for Christmas so I can print him the mount for it. Now .. she could have thought 'Hey, my Dad needs a fire extinguisher.' ... but that's not how the thought train went. :))) (edited)
Great design, strong, easy print. Fits household First Alert and Kidde units
Can you share the STLs? The only magnets I have are 6mm x 2.5mm and I wanted to change that in the design. TIA.
@charlescho - I'm sorry. Only saw your message today. This was my first model, I was (and still am) an absolute noob. I uploaded the STL and STEP files, along with my Fusion360 model ... which isn't great. I also tried my hand at modifying the model for 2.5mm magnets. The history in the Fusion360 model was fighting me, but I think I got it. I uploaded that in STEP as well. (edited)
