The model is overall great. It does not fit on all models, tho. DDF487 fits fine. DTD170 does not.
I will also try to fit larger magnets because I got some 6x2.6 and the do just marginal job.

Thanks for the feedback! I only have a subcompact Makita driver to test it on and it seemed to work for that. I used 6mm x 3mm magnets, and they weren't terribly strong, but printed in ASA the bits were gripped by the plastic as well.
If I removed the small protrusion that you circled in red, would it work for your DTD170 driver?
@DevinLong Yes, you're right, it's an easy modification to make it fit. All one needs is just a sharp knife :-)
Makita changed the bottom slightly. But I don't think the model needs to be changed, it's not worth the time and effort :-) (edited)
Printed it for use in my 2010 Subaru Outback - Snaps right into the existing dual cup cavity in the center console and works great! I normally use one of the cup cavities for my phone holder and the original separator between the two cup cavities is just not up to the task. With this device, I no longer have to fiddle with that cheesy spring-loaded separator between the two cup cavities. I printed it in black PETG and it fits so well that it looks like it's original equipment. You wouldn't even notice it unless you knew the original configuration. (edited)
