Tinkering has been in my blood since I was a little boy. When I was 6 my father gave me a radio shack electronics kit for my birthday. This was to stop or at least restrain me from continuing to take apart everything I could get my hands on. Since then I have delved in to a lot of hobbies. From antique tractor restoration, machining, metal casting, programming and so on.
I believe that tinkering always seems to branch in to new and different arena's. I was hesitant to get in to 3d printing 5 or 6 years ago. I have some programming knowledge for arduino and c++. But I really had no 3d drawing experience. I should have leapt in to it earlier, as far as communities that are here to help and nurture new comers, not many can come close to the 3d printing community.
