Fits my TRX4 Sport perfectly and provides space for ~1500mAh 3S batteries or so. Printed in ABS and seems sturdy enough, will see how it holds up. Also tried a "high-speed" TPU that I had lying around, but mount was too flexible for my taste. Thanks for the design!
After a lot of experimentation, I finally managed to make my Iris Compass somewhat reliable, thanks to this spacer. ~ When placing the spacer as intended, the leafs lock up while opening the aperture. The shortened top lid had the same issue, which let me to consider where else I can remove this 2mm of play. ~ Turns out, it fits in between the leafs, where it falls over the posts which it would otherwise catch on. ~ So thanks for the model, while the leafs in my print still occasionally fall out of place, this is significantly less frequently and has made it usable as a drawing guide.
@RedWyvern Are your leafs printed with PETG? I have printed the leafs with both PETG and PLA and in my case the PLA ones are better (I am guessing because of less stringing and deformation of the posts). Also, printed with the normal pattern instead of concentric because the concentric leaves a thick line in the middle that keeps catching when moving.
@DavidA yes, PETG as I followed the instructions exactly, but besides catching on those protrusions it was generally too sensitive to any weird motion. But I nearly fully fixed mine with that spacer in between the leafs and picking the smoothest ones of two prints. So I managed to make mine work while sticking to the original instructions, even with those being sub-optimal.
