At my heart I am a problem solver, so naturally I gravitated to engineering and a Mechanical Diploma after school. I started designing industrial steam plants where I worked very closely with the fabrication and engineering teams to refine the designs, the documentation and the process. After leaving this organisation and following a short period in custom vehicle design, I then found my calling working in the Oil and Gas industry for an oil refinery as a piping designer. I have been fortunate in all my jobs to always work connected to the manufacturing centre that consumed our designs. This provided me with valuable insight and unique understanding of the complete design and fabrication workflow where I enjoyed and valued working directly with fabricators. I have enjoyed my career as a designer where I was able to design process plants and machine components from scratch but have also enjoyed redesigning and improving existing ones.
As a Designated Support Specialist, I bring the collective experiences of my colleagues and I to bear on problems faced by our customers. We provide technical assistance and recommendations, on process and workflows to maximise efficiency and reduce cost in all aspects of the design to manufacture process to drive greater success for our customers.
Working for Autodesk has enabled me to expand my skills and knowledge, not the least of which is the Autodesk tools. I have also developed an interest in data analysis specifically with Power BI and Excel. I find it liberating working for a company that is invested in the similar culture and Ideals that drive me.
I am passionate about our collective futures and sustainability and enjoy spending time in in nature on the water as well as in the bush camping and 4WDing. I enjoy problem solving, especially with a mechanical focus, and have found in my career that I have am valued by my colleagues as a logical and methodical person that can identify a clear path forward but can also find creative and alternative solutions.
