I'm very happy with the general design and functionality and I'm ecstatic with the fit of the retaining clips. It doesn't seem that the batteries will ever dislodge themselves, but they slide out easily with a gentle push.
I printed this model on my very old Wanhao i3 clone with Creality PLA+ at 0.15mm resolution and 0.8mm shell thickness and 10% infill, and the print took 7 hours with no additional supports or adhesion, using 53g (17.6m) of filament according to Cura.
I did print it upside down (with the springy tabs at the top) to avoid the flat base printing in thin air (without support). The print worked perfectly upside down.
At this point the only thing that I would change would be to round off the multitude of very sharp edges and corners. I'm going to use round and flat files to remove the skin-removing bits.
I do think, with effort, it can be made a little bit less tall (maybe by around 5mm), but the width and depth is probably already minimal. The battery terminal can be embedded into the foot by say 3mm, and the head can be made around 2mm lower, with the retaining clips still functioning as before. (edited)
