Printed great with Polylite PETG.
Thanks!
@elphilmino_134093 Looks great in yellow, thanks so much for rating and posting your make!
Happy printing!
I don't have a problem with Prusa using my photos to advertise their contests, but the least they could do is credit the photo to me.
This is at least the third time they've used one of my photos for the main banner on a contest, and 2 of those times it's been a photo of one of my own designs. In those cases, not only are they using my photo without even crediting me for the photo, they are also using my own photo to advertise a contest that I can't enter because I've already uploaded my design, the photo of which they are using to promote it.
I just don't understand why at the very least they can't just put the username in the bottom corner of the image or something. I get that we probably agree to some terms of use that they can use our photos we post for whatever they want, but Prusa generally has a pretty fair and friendly attitude towards their audience so this feels weird.
The last time they used my image to advertise a contest (for which I was quite annoyed as it was I think the 2nd or 3rd contest in a row which had obviously been inspired by my own already uploaded designs), I did a post about it like this, and they just removed my image from the contest banner, used someone elses (still uncredited) and never responded to me.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
@TomfromPrusaResearch Thanks Tom. I've always been a big supporter of Prusa, and have for the past few years focused on it quite a bit with my YouTube channel ( www.3DRev.uk) and when Printables came out I did a video comparing it to Thingiverse and talking about it's advantages of the predecessor (which became quite a controversial video on Facebook before the masses came around).
I haven't been able to produce new videos on it for a while due to health reasons but am hoping to get back to it soon.
For a company that's building an ecosystem it's a little strange to not at least credit the heritage of a design/photo.
I also think it's weird that if you are creative and productive enough to make a tool they use for marketing, again in this case the image and/or model, that no benefits are gained. So many YouTubers bestow gifts on those who come up with the idea that gets chosen for their next video etc.
I understand why they "can't" include old designs in contests -because they want new models and activity on their site, but what really prevents a redesign "remake" and resubmission? It's a subtle line for sure.
Yet again, my uploads seem to have inspired a new competition which I'm not able to enter because my item has already been posted.
This time my Push-Click remote holder is the poster child for the remote holder competition, but despite that, they've not even linked to my file.

Here I take a look at Thingiverse Vs Printables, and why Printables is what Thingiverse should have always been!

Coincidentally, a week before the new Printables competition I'd just bought an Ikea Skadis pegboard and had designed a number of custom mounts for it (Don't worry, none of the ones I designed before are running in the competition), but I have designed 1-2 new ones every day since the launch of the competition and now have a collection of 16 Skadis mounts (some have multiple variations).
There are likely more to come but you can find my collection of my designs here: https://www.printables.com/social/5104-byteslinger/collections/264323
(Just so you know, there are a couple of holders in this photo which are not my designs, namely the wrench, clipper, and tweezer designs, but the rest are mine and available in my collection).
Would you by any chance able to make a 140mm version of this? 140mm would not only push more air but also get more coverage of the hepa filters. (edited)
Really nice model that printed perfectly, filters fit awesome and thanks for the filter links too :) I used M3 5mm deep 4mm diameter brass inserts for this.
@remington Ah you just made my day! Thanks very much for posting your make, it's great to see this is working out for other people. I was very happy with this design! Take care!
