I actually have a hole-less version on my hard drive, but I assumed that was not something everyone would want. Good to see it’s desireable.
In regards to the base overhang you mentioned in change #1, I actually didn’t use a Gridfinity Generator, I just recreated the base myself based on the Gridfinity Specifications. That’s an issue that bothers me as well, I think that’s a good change.
Finally the chamfer not a problem to me, but I think it’s a good change for others who prefer that.
Nice model! What did you use to make these changes?
Printed with Polylite Starry Nebula PLA on a Prusa Mini+. The only post-printing that I performed was to remove the supports from the mouth and nose and add some thin rubber feet to keep it from sliding around my desk. I sliced with PrusaSlicer using snug supports everywhere. Very easy print, and the model is extremely stable. It even holds my Warby Parker glasses, which typically fall off of other glasses holders. Printed well! The lightning infill is a good suggestion.
Two recommendations I would make to improve it (though it's good enough for me so I'm not planning to remix it): One would be to add finger holes in. If all 6 slots are occupied, it's a challenge to remove one - you'll have to pull the whole bin and carefully flip it over to pull one out. Or you could just not fill it all the way, but that wastes a hole.
The second one is to not bother having fully-enclosed sides. This takes care of the finger hole issue and also reduces filament usage quite a bit. You just have to make sure not to remove too much from the side to reduce the integrity of the top so it remains stackable, but that's not too hard, I've seen a lot of e.g. battery bins and the like that do it.
Overall though, I like it! Solves a problem for me, and the tolerances are loose enough that the chargers slide in and come out easily. Now I just have to figure out what to do with this other mismash of chargers I've got... (edited)
Good use of space with the coin holder! Thanks for leaving the magnets in. Unfortunately my wallet didn't fit as it was a bit longer, but cards fit flawlessly. Printed great
